Originates from Naoussa, Imathia in Northern Greece. Entered the Hellenic Millitary Academy in 1990, from which graduated in 1994 with the rank of Second Lieutenant of Artillery.

As a junior officer, served in Air Defense and Field Artillery Units, performing the duties of Platoon Leader and Battery Commander. During his career as a Senior Officer, served as Deputy Commander and Commander of GBADS Units, as well as a Staff Officer in national and NATO headquarters. As a Flag Officer served as Commander of a Mechanized Brigade.

Attended all the prescribed school of his branch. In 2011, attended the Supreme Joint War College, and in 2019 the National Defense College. Holds a MA’s in Strategic Security Studies.

Been awarded all the prescribed decorations, medals and commemorative distinctions corresponding to his rank and position.

Apart from English is familiar with several foreign languages.
