Background
Brigadier General Roberto BANCI attended the Army Military Academy in Modena from 1989 to 1991.
He held the positions of platoon commander in the 2nd and 18th Bersaglieri Battalion at the Modena Academy for students of the 177th course, Company Commander at the 6th Bersaglieri Regiment in Bologna, Commander of the 3rd Bersaglieri Battalion “CERNAIA” in Caserta and Commander of the 1st Bersaglieri Regiment in Cosenza.He held staff positions in the branches of operations, plans and training.
He attended the General Staff Course, the Senior Staff Course, the Joint Chiefs Staff Course and the National War College at National Defense University in Washington D.C.
Brigadier General Roberto BANCI participated in the NATO (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan.
Promoted to Brigadier General in January 2020, he held the position of Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the Command of the Land Operational Forces and Army Operational Command in Rome.
He was the 61st Commander of the 132nd “Ariete” Armored Brigade from 2020 to 2022.
He was Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the Command of the Land Operational Forces and Army Operational Command in Rome from 2022 to 2025.
He was Vice Chief of III Department Employment of The Forces – Italian Army General Staff from 2025 – 2026.
He is married and has 2 children.
