On Friday the 4th of July 2025, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Greece (NRDC-GR) held an official ceremony on its premises in Thessaloniki to commemorate the 249th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America.
The event was attended by multinational personnel from the 12 nations serving at the headquarters and was honored by the presence of the U.S. Consul General in Thessaloniki, Mr. Jerry ISMAIL.
NRDC–GR Commander, Lieutenant General Athanasios GARINIS, welcomed Mr. ISMAIL, along with Consuls from the contributing nations, and expressed his gratitude for their presence. He congratulated the US personnel on this important anniversary and acknowledged their valuable contributions to the mission of the headquarters.
During the event, the U.S. Senior National Representative at NRDC-GR delivered a speech, thanking the command, the host nation, and the Consul General for their continued support. He emphasized the significance of celebrating Independence Day while serving abroad, highlighting the shared values and enduring bonds among Allies.
