THESSALONIKI, Greece – April 24, 2025 – NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Greece (NRDC-GR) welcomed His Excellency Jorge M. DOMECQ FERNÁNDEZ de BOBADILLA, Ambassador of Spain to Greece, for an official visit to its Headquarters (HQ) in Thessaloniki. The visit served to strengthen ties between allied countries and enhance understanding of the HQ’s mission. The Ambassador was accompanied by CAPTAIN Federico GARCÍA CASTRO, the Spanish Embassy Defense Attaché, and the Honorary Consul of Spain Mr. Samuel NAHMIAS.
The diplomatic delegation was formally welcomed by NRDC-GR Commander, Lieutenant General Athanasios GARINIS, for an office call within the historic Hellenic C’ Army Corps building. Following their discussion, Ambassador DOMECQ FERNÁNDEZ de BOBADILLA was given an informative briefing regarding NRDC-GR’s operational structure, core mission objectives, and extensive training program. Ambassador had also the chance to meet with the Spanish officers of the HQ’s.
Ambassador DOMECQ FERNÁNDEZ de BOBADILLA conveyed his high regards for the HQ’s personnel and acknowledged the vital contribution of NRDC-GR to collective defense and regional stability.
