From 12 to 13 May 2026, NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Greece (NRDC-GR) conducted the Main Planning Conference (MPC) for the upcoming exercise “GORDIAN KNOT 2026” (GOKN26) at its headquarters in Thessaloniki. This conference represents a significant milestone in the preparation phase for one of the Headquarters’ most vital training events.
GOKN26 is a scheduled land domain exercise designed to evaluate and enhance the operational capabilities of NRDC-GR in its role as a Warfighting Corps Headquarters. The exercise focuses on complex, modern scenarios within a Multi-Domain Operations environment, ensuring the Headquarters remains ready to respond to any challenge in the Southeastern region.
The conference was chaired by the Chief of Planning and employed key staff officers and representatives from all NRDC-GR branches, along with external partners who participated via Video Teleconference (VTC). During the sessions, participants finalized the exercise framework, updated coordination requirements, and refined the integration of personnel and resources.
Through these comprehensive planning activities, NRDC-GR continues to demonstrate its commitment to high-level training and collective defense, maintaining its status as a high-readiness asset for the Alliance.
