Brigadier General (GRC A) Dimitrios TAGKALAKIS

Deputy Chief of Staff - Support Division

Brigadier General (OF-6) Dimitrios TAGKALAKIS was born in Patra on 02 Apr 1971.

He joined the Hellenic Military Academy in 1990 and graduated in 1994 as an Artillery 2nd Lt.

As a junior officer, he graduated from all eligible Schools of his rank included the Supreme Joint War College (2014-2015) and the National Defense College (2019-2020).

During his career he had been appointed as Battery Cdr in Field Artillery Units as well as in 180 and 181 HAWK Battalions. In 2011 he was assigned as Deputy Commander in 180 HAWK Battalion and in 2015 appointed as Commander in 124 Field Artillery Battalion (M 109A2). In 2023 assigned as Artillery Regiment Commander in 88 Command in LIMNOS island.

He served as Aide de Camp to CHOD, from 2008 to 2010.

As SO in CHOD Public Relations Branch from 2013 to 2014 and as SO in Crisis Management Center in the HNDGS.

From Sep 2017 to Feb 2018 he served as OPS Advisor in NATO Advisory Liaison Team (NALT) in KFOR PRISHTINA. From Jul 2018 to Jul 2021 he served as SO in LANDCOM G7. From 2021 TO 2023 he was assigned as ACOS G7 in NRDC-GRC.

In 2025 he was promoted to Brigadier General (OF-6) and assumed the duties of DCOS SPT in the NRDC-GRC.

Br.Gen Dimitrios TAGKALAKIS holds a Master of Arts at Strategic Studies- Macedonia University, A Master of Arts at Applied and International Security from PLYMOUTH University-UK, a Master of Expertise at Negotiations from Athens University Economics and Business and a Bachelor at the Communication and Public Relations from the Panteion University.

He speaks English and French.

He is married to Tzeny KALOGIROU and he has two sons.
