Background

 B.Gen. Reyes was graduated from the Spanish Army Academy as an Infantry Lieutenant in July 1991. 

His first assignments were in light Infantry Units, the Spanish Legion and Regular Forces, serving for seven years in these units in the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain. 

From 1998-2002 he was assigned to the Special Operations Command HQ. 

In 2003, as a Major, he graduated from the Army Staff School and was assigned to the Spanish Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). 

In 2005 he participated in the SFOR Operation in BiH (Sarajevo). 

In 2008 he participated in the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo. 

During his job as a Major and Lieutenant Colonel, he was assigned to the NATO International Military Staff (IMS). 

From 2013-2016 he commanded the Infantry Mechanized Battalion “Las Navas” from the 6th Infantry Regiment “Saboya”. 

From 2016-2019 he was assigned to the NATO Joint Force Command Brunssum. 

After being promoted to Colonel, he served as “San Marcial” Division Chief of Staff. 

Later on, he was assigned to TRADOC as Director of Staff at the Research, Doctrine & Organization Division. 

In 2021 he participated in the EU Training Mission in Somalia as Chief of Staff of the Operation. 

Since 31st August 2022 he is serving in NRDC-GR as DCOS OPS. 

During his career BG Reyes has received several military and civilian national decorations and medals. He has also been awarded with the NATO SFOR medal, UN medal for UNMIK operation and EU Common Security and Defence Policy Service Medal. 

BG Reyes is fluent in English and French. 

He is married and father of two daughters.
