Brigadier General (GRC A) Thomas ADAMIDIS

Deputy Chief of Staff - Rear Support Command

Born in 1969 and brought up in Thessaloniki, Greece; he graduated from the Greek Military Academy in 1991 and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the Artillery.

After having completed the artillery training and courses BGEN ADAMIDIS was assigned to various commanding and staff posts in different Units and HQs around Greece and abroad. He served as commander of artillery and air defense COY as well as artillery Battalion.

His staff assignments include S2, S3 in Division HQ and ACOS G3 at Corps HQ.

His NATO experience started as Major in HQ NDC-GR in G7 in the post of Exercises’ Budget Staff Officer and continued with his first assignment in NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) as Chief OPS. Later being a senior Lieutenant Colonel he served in SHAPE in J5, followed by a three year tour in HQ NRDC-GR and was assigned the duties of Chief Plans in JLSG. Afterwards being already Colonel he started a second tour to NAMFI as OPS Branch Chief.

In January 2023 he was promoted to Brigadier General and was assigned the duties of the DCOS RSPT of the HQ.

His military education includes Artillery basic and advanced courses, the Staff Officers Course, the War College and the National Defense Course. Moreover he has attended numerous NATO courses with the most important being the Operations Planning Course.

 He speaks English fluently and is married to Despoina Kampouridou who works as a teacher in secondary level education in Serres. They have two daughters, Sofia (25) and Nikoletta (23).
