Background
Born in 1969 and brought up in Livadia Serres, Greece; he graduated from the Greek Military Academy in 1991 and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the Artillery.
After having completed the artillery training and courses, BGEN NIKOGLOU was assigned to various commanding and staff posts in different Units and HQs around Greece.
While junior officer he served as commander of Battery and S2-S3 in Artillery Battalion.
In 2002 he graduated from Supreme Military School and appointed as S2, S3 in Brigade HQs.
His first assignment in NRDC-GR started in 2006 at G3-TOC for two years. Afterwards in 2009 he was assigned as Commander of Air Defense Artillery for three years.
In 2012 he served in Cyprus as S2, S3 in Brigade HQs for two years. After that in 2014 he started the second tour in NRDC-GR and was assigned the duties of G5 Chief Assessment, then he was promoted as Colonel and took over as ACOS J5, during the preparation phase of HQ as JHQ, where was evaluated as Director of the Planning teams.
In 2019 was nominated as Commander of Artillery Regiment. Next year he assumed the duties of Chief of National Policy in HNDGS. In March 2021 he promoted to BRIGADIER GENERAL and took over the duties of the Director of Organization in HNDGS.
From March 2023 GENERAL started the third tour in NRDC-GR and took over the duties of the DCOS COMM.
His military education includes Artillery basic and advanced courses, the Staff Officers Course, the War College and the National Defense Course. Moreover he has attended numerous NATO courses with the most important being the Operations Planning Course.
He holds a Master Degree in Applied Strategy and Security from the University of Plymouth UK and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Neapolis Pafos, Cyprus. He speaks English and French.
He is married to Eleni Efthimiadou and they have a daughter, Savvina, who is student.
BGEN NIKOGLOU enjoys reading and playing chess; he is also an active member of a traditional and folklore Greek dances club.
